The latest piece for vodafone from digital agency (any my former employer) TBGdigital is this awesome projection mapping documenting the evolution of mobile phones. Pretty frickin sweet i reckon:

Creative Social presents …. The Future of Advertising

November 12, 2010

Finally I managed to get to an Internet Week event after missing Tuesday’s apparently brilliant Metaphwoar. It was ‘Creative Social presents the Future of Advertising and featured some great talks from some of the worlds most innovative creative directors.

Technology was a huge focus for the majority of the night – with some particularly interesting points from Work Club’s Andy Sandoz who wrestled with the concept of humans becoming machines (heavy stuff for what was supposed to be a talk about advertising).

Another great talk that wasn’t quite so reminiscent of a Terminator movie was Sam Ball’s insight into the gaming world, looking at behavioral pattens of gamers all over the world and the impact that games have on our behavior as consumers. One particularly interesting point he made was that people in certain communities would earn real money within these games (farming for gold, harvesting crops etc.)  whilst gamers in other communities would happily spend real money to skip the monotony of these same tasks, in effect developing their own economic systems within the platform. Certainly food for thought.

Hopefully videos of the talks will be uploaded at some point. In the mean time you can view Andy Sandoz’s presentation here.

QR Code Installation @ MRM London

October 29, 2010

The latest installation at MRM London headquarters reception is this wall of QR codes – each one dedicated to a different client and each one linking through to some work we’ve produced for them. A simple idea to implement but an great way of adding a bit of interaction to an otherwise flat space.

TBG Presents Twitter

October 21, 2010

Monetising Twitter has been a topic of much debate over the last year or two, and with it’s ever increasing scope for brands to advertise using its platform, it’s  a hotter topic than ever. This video, hosted by UK agency (and my former employer) TBG Digital provides an interesting insight from Twitter themselves as to it’s plans on advertising via the social network giant. What’s interesting is their dedication to keep Twitter an enjoyable experience for the user, hence their very considered step by step approach towards advertising. Keep an eye out for promoted tweets also – I think we’ll be seeing lots more of these.

Get Your Energy Back

October 19, 2010

Check out this slick projection mapping masterpiece for the Toyota Auris Hybrid – a car that ‘gets its energy back’ through some technical wizardry. Anyway – the team at Glue London put this together and the result is quite brilliant. I’ve still yet to see projection mapping in real life but if it’s even half as impressive as it appears on screen, then expect to see a lot more:

Internet Week

October 15, 2010

This November will see the first Internet Week Europe. A five day event in London that looks to celebrate the best digital offerings in the industry. There’s a tonne of cool stuff going on from breakfast at Mother to a host of digital drop-in’s from industry experts. I’m personally looking forward to Metaphwoar on Tuesday night. You can find out more about it here:

Smell Like A Monster & Banksy Does The Simpsons

October 14, 2010

Sorry for the lack of posts – more to come soon i promise. In the mean time a couple of things to brighten your Thursday:

Youtique

October 5, 2010

Another great idea from the guys at PokeYoutique. An online shopping channel for French Connection that works by utilizing Youtubes ability to embed links within video. You see an item of clothing you like – click on it at the end of the clip, and you’re taken straight through to the product within the French Connection site. A simple, helpful style guide with a decent call to action and no faffing about. Well done team Poke:

Alex Bogusky Tells All

August 11, 2010

A very interesting article by Danielle Sacks regarding Alex Boguskys departure from Crispin & the advertising industry:
http://www.fastcompany.com/alex-bogusky-tells-all

It starts off quite complimentary and then starts to lay in to him towards the end. Even more interesting though is Boguskys step by step analysis of the article on his blog. A typically smart and timely move from him which is no doubt what made CPB so great in the first place:

Well worth a read if you have time.

The Most Refreshing Pint

Another simple but great idea from the guys at Lean Mean Fighting Machine:
