Get Your Energy Back

Check out this slick projection mapping masterpiece for the Toyota Auris Hybrid – a car that ‘gets its energy back’ through some technical wizardry. Anyway – the team at Glue London put this together and the result is quite brilliant. I’ve still yet to see projection mapping in real life but if it’s even half as impressive as it appears on screen, then expect to see a lot more:

Augmented reality is definitely a bit of a buzz word in digital at the moment and i’ve not seen many genuine uses for it yet aside from novelty applications. Acrossair however is an iPhone app that actually seems to provide added value to the experience. By holding it in front of you it will locate your nearest bars, restaurant, wiki articles/locations and even nearest tweets (though I’m not really sure how useful the latter is).

Let’s hope there’s some more good stuff like this to come.
