Monetising Twitter has been a topic of much debate over the last year or two, and with it’s ever increasing scope for brands to advertise using its platform, it’s a hotter topic than ever. This video, hosted by UK agency (and my former employer) TBG Digital provides an interesting insight from Twitter themselves as to it’s plans on advertising via the social network giant. What’s interesting is their dedication to keep Twitter an enjoyable experience for the user, hence their very considered step by step approach towards advertising. Keep an eye out for promoted tweets also – I think we’ll be seeing lots more of these.
Check out this slick projection mapping masterpiece for the Toyota Auris Hybrid – a car that ‘gets its energy back’ through some technical wizardry. Anyway – the team at Glue London put this together and the result is quite brilliant. I’ve still yet to see projection mapping in real life but if it’s even half as impressive as it appears on screen, then expect to see a lot more:
This November will see the first Internet Week Europe. A five day event in London that looks to celebrate the best digital offerings in the industry. There’s a tonne of cool stuff going on from breakfast at Mother to a host of digital drop-in’s from industry experts. I’m personally looking forward to Metaphwoar on Tuesday night. You can find out more about it here:
Another great idea from the guys at Poke – Youtique. An online shopping channel for French Connection that works by utilizing Youtubes ability to embed links within video. You see an item of clothing you like – click on it at the end of the clip, and you’re taken straight through to the product within the French Connection site. A simple, helpful style guide with a decent call to action and no faffing about. Well done team Poke:
My valentines treat was a trip to the excellent decode exhibition at the V&A. If you’ve not been it’s definitely worth checking out (it’s on until april). For once I was able to walk around an exhibit and know more about it than the oldies who keep stopping in front of me.
